How this Data Will be Used
The 2008 My Quality Counts! reports are intended to be used solely by individual physicians to support quality improvement initiatives. The project manager for the P² Collaborative of WNY, and ViPS, the data aggregator, are the only entities that have access to the entire aggregated data set of medical and pharmacy claims on a patient-specific level. Each participating health plan will receive the aggregated data scores for all three plans in report format. Plans will receive patient-level drilldown of their own individual data sets to assure accuracy and completeness.

- Claims from other plans, including State Medicaid fee-for-service data.
- Measures of health care quality from sources beyond claims or administrative data (lab records, EHRs, etc.).
- The capability by the health plans to use the aggregated data for purposes of pay-for-performance initiatives.
- A public reporting component that will be used not only to recognize and encourage high-value care, but allow patients and their caregivers to make decisions about where to access effective care.
